Younger students will begin with block-based coding, before progressing to text-based coding with popular languages. They’ll enjoy an authentic learning experience – mastering industry-relevant skills that will help them to succeed in the workforce, while creating a strong portfolio of projects that will showcase their knowledge.

Zenva Schools also offers professional development, so that you can further your career and upskill with the latest industry knowledge and techniques.

Other Requirements
To access Zenva Schools' courses, a user needs a modern web browser and an internet connection that is fast enough to stream online videos. You can access courses on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. Internet connection speeds can be as low as 378 Kbps to work. All Zenva Schools users can watch videos and complete coding exercises with popular software. Most of the software is free, but a few require a license. Depending on the course, users may need to download software to their devices.

With CodeWithChris, young students not only develop technical skills but also how to apply them by building real world mobile apps. In our technological driven world, knowledge in computer science is becoming increasingly important. Our program allows students to develop these transferable skills in the context of iOS app development. App development is a fun and relevant way to teach critical thinking, application programming, creativity and collaboration.

Our school-based program connects both offline and online learning environments, and includes video lectures, hands-on activities, teacher support, certificate of achievement, and more. 

Amazon Future Engineer

Amazon Future Engineer is a comprehensive childhood-to-career program aimed at increasing access to computer science education for children and young adults from underserved and underrepresented communities. We harness Amazon’s scale and innovative spirit to inspire and prepare young people for the careers of the future through computer science. We don’t believe everyone needs to be an engineer, yet we do believe that even a basic exposure to computer science can help young people on their educational and career journey.

We lead efforts to improve computer science education on two fronts. First, we invest in the education system to make computer science and STEM careers more accessible to students from underserved communities and those with underrepresented identities in the tech industry. Next, we hold our role as a large tech company to support students with $10 million in annual scholarships — a 4-year, $40,000 scholarship paired with a guaranteed internship after freshman year in college for 250 students each year.

Amazon Future Engineer offers tech tours, class chats with Amazon professionals, coding challenges, scholarships and internships for students, educator benefits, and more. 

CoderZ

At CoderZ, we believe STEM and Computer Science education are essential for the future and should be universally available to all kids. So we built a gamified coding platform that makes it easy for anyone to learn (and teach), using robots to bring the subject matter to life! Grounded in STEM and coding, CoderZ trains students grades 4 and beyond in computational thinking and technical ability. Confronted with real-world problem-solving, students must adapt to advance, strengthening their inner coach and developing the skills they'll need beyond the classroom. 

CoderZ is designed for teachers of all backgrounds. Prior knowledge in STEM, coding, or robotics are nice, but not required. Our platform guides through the courses, providing all the tools you need.

Carnegie Mellon University Computer Science Academy

CMU CS Academy is an online, graphics-based computer science curriculum taught in Python provided by Carnegie Mellon University. We create novel, world-class Computer Science education for your classroom —and it’s entirely free.

CMU CS Academy began when co-founders, and professors in SCS, David Kosbie and Mark Stehlik were approached by Pittsburgh Public School teachers, asking for a computer science curriculum to meet their students' needs. From those conversations, David and Mark set out to achieve one goal - access for all to high-quality computer science education for anyone who wants it. For that reason CMU CS Academy is, and always will be, free for schools to offer to their students. The project was initially run as a course on CS Pedagogy in SCS but after the first year that model transitioned to our current model as a non-profit organization at CMU that employs CMU students.

Other Requirements
Each student needs access to a computer and internet connection. Since the CMU CS Academy resources are browser-based no downloads or installs are required. The curriculum is designed to work well on a Chromebook. For iPads and other tablets, an external keyboard and trackpad/mouse is required to use all of our features.
