Job Description

Oakton CollegeYouth STEAM Camp program is looking for enthusiastic and innovative instructors for the 2025 summer camp semester. Develop and teach hands-on high-quality curriculum that is fun, yet academically challenging and engaging for students ages 8-14 years old. Be a part of shaping our future leaders.

  • Development of curriculum that is hands-on
  • Preparation of course presentations and instructional materials
  • Delivery of instruction, including being prepared for and meeting student and courses needs
  • Compliance with departmental and institutional policies and procedures including but not limited to submission of final grades

Subject Matters may include: Note; we are always interested in new class proposals

  • Coding, Artificial Intelligence, Gaming, Animation, Anime & Manga Storyboarding, Photoshop

  • Must have a degree in education or significant experience
  • Must have demonstrated experience using technology in teaching, trainingor tutoring of youth
  • Demonstrated experience with the subject matter
  • Enthusiasm for hands-onlearning and engagingstudents ages 8-14 years old
  • Experience with and excitement about working with diverse learners

Additional Information:

  • Pay: $50 per hour (Classes are 12 hrs per week for 4-day classes; 9 hrs per week for 3-day classes)
  • Must successfully complete a background check.
  • Camp Locations: Oakton College DesPlaines and Skokie campuses.

2025 Schedule:

Skokie Campus - MorningSessions 9am -12pm; Afternoon sessions1-4pm Dates:

6/9-6/12

6/16-6/18 (3-day camp due to holiday) 6/23-6/26

6/30-7/2 (3-day camp due to holiday)

 

Des Plaines Campus - Morning Sessions 9am -12pm; Afternoon sessions 1-4pm Dates:
